Riwa Haidar, MSc

Riwa Haidar is a licensed clinical psychologist who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the American University of Beirut (AUB), and Masters degree in Clinical Applications of Psychology from Kingston University London. She then completed a two-year clinical training at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) where she was trained and supervised in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.

Apart from her clinical work, Riwa has contributed to the publication of several articles on topics related to psychological torture, mental health disorders following the Beirut August 4 explosion, and community mental health care in Lebanon. These articles were published in Q1 journals such as the Journal of Affective Disorders, and the International Journal of Social Psychiatry.

Riwa offers individual therapy sessions to older adolescents and to young adults (16 to 25 years of age) in Arabic, English or French. She has experience working with a range of disorders including anxiety disorders, OCD, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Trauma and Stress related disorders, substance related and addictive disorders and personality disorders as well as depression and other mood disorders. Riwa is also a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).
